A race of solidarity amid light, rock, and grapevines

The vertical race of 700 meters, with 165 meters of positive elevation gain, is short but with a high level of emotion, both for the technical aspects and the landscape and symbolic value: the start is from the sea and then winds up through the village; the first part passes among the boats parked along the main street lined with the famous pastel houses, to the steep staircase of the “Collora”.
After 300 stairs in stone, irregular and steep – immersed in the grand Illuminated Nativity of Mario Andreoli – through terraced vineyards, sea and sky, at twilight you reach the arrival arch at the top of the Hill of Three Crosses.
The perfect setting to start another extraordinary spectacle: the lighting of the largest illuminated nativity in the world symbolically entrusted to the 100 runners.
